Under the guidance of Jorg Ruegemer in our Arch 4010 studio, we (Savannah Pike, Mikayla Austin, and I) embarked on a journey to Vernal, Utah, with a mission to comprehend the city’s master planning initiative. Our primary objective was to meticulously map and analyze the area, unraveling the distinctive features that define Vernal and identifying potential challenges that would inform our subsequent design and project development phases. These deep maps laid the groundwork for our project, centered on revitalizing community engagement with the downtown area by seamlessly linking external activities such as hiking and the allure of dinosaurs to an iconic building nestled in the heart of downtown.
